Discover your strength in the 9 of Swords

The suit of swords represent the element of Air and thereby deals with your intellect and thought processes. The Ace of Swords represents the beginning of a new thought process or fresh idea. Each number then would then take the process to the next level or stage of thought. It stands to reason that you could well feel as if you’re at the verge of mental exhaustion by the time you reach the 9 of Swords. Now let’s discover your strength in the 9 of Swords during this time of mental exhaustion.

Discover your strength in the 9 of Swords

The Nine of Swords acts as a reminder to re-evaluate your circumstances with fresh eyes and a fresh attitude. This card is not about whether your glass is half full or half empty, but rather about having your glass and the infinite possibilities that your glass can hold.

9 0f Swords in the Tree of Life

Take a look at the 9 of Swords from the Rider-Waite Tarot. Do you relate to sitting up at night, overwhelmed by the chaos of your mind? Every sound becomes a nightmare and every thought behaves as an act of sabotage toward your goal. Your destiny appears to crumble before your eyes as only the feeling of hopelessness pursues.

You will find similar meanings portrayed in the illustrated pip decks that Tarot offers. One of my personal favorite illustrated pip decks is the Osho Zen Tarot: The Transcendental Game Of Zen, which refers to swords as clouds. So to me swords are useful tools to cut through the cloudiness of my mind. In Osho the 9 of Swords is aptly named Sorrow.

The Dark Side Of The Moon

Firstly, we look into the Tree of Life and find that the 9th Sephiroth is that of the Moon, or rather, Yesod. What the moon is indicating here is clearly the lunar energy, that of water, and we can see how the emotional impact is affecting our thought processes. Being over emotional when making decisions isn’t always the best way to go about things.

So what is essential to realize when facing this time period or phase that you’re going through, is that moon actually has no light of its own. So what you are currently ‘seeing’ is not entirely ontological, or true. On the Tree of Life, and in life itself, Yesod (Moon) reflects the light of Tiphareth (Sun).

Strength of the 9 of Swords - Discover your strength in the 9 of SwordsLook deeper at the situation and you will find that there will always be a ‘light’ side to your situation. You need only change your perception, and mostly your attitude toward your situation.

A ‘no can do’ attitude will have a ‘no can do’ outcome.

If you keep hiding your face in your hands, then that is pretty much your outcome. However, look around and see that there is comfort, warmth, growth, and it’s time to smell the roses! You are a creator! You can manifest anything you really put your mind to, because it is your destiny to achieve! It’s your purpose!

The 9 of Swords portrays a very simple concept as old as time itself, “Your thoughts become things”. The more one stresses and freaks out about the fear, the more fearful one becomes. So the 9 of Swords is stressing to you to open your eyes and realize the potential beyond your fears. You actually do have nothing to fear, but fear itself.

Take another look at the Rider-Waite Tarot 9 of Swords, we can clearly see that if you take your hands from your face and open your eyes, you are comforted by roses.

Once you discover your strength in the 9 of Swords you can turn to this card for meditation purposes as soon as you recognize the symptoms of mental exhaustion. You can use your discovery on your loved ones during their times of need.

I wish you all the best with your meditations and thought processes! If there is anything further I could assist you with, please feel free to leave a comment or email me. I would love to hear from you.

Blessed Be,
